Know Your Machine | Sewing Foundations — October 22,2026

Know Your Machine is a beginner class in Toni & Tucker Co.’s Sewing Foundations series. Bring your own sewing machine and learn to thread it, use its controls, and sew with confidence. No previous sewing experience is required.

Small-group instruction. Limited to eight students. The venue address and arrival instructions will be provided to registered students before class.

What you’ll learn

• Machine parts, controls, and stitch settings
• Threading, bobbin winding and loading, and needle basics
• Speed control and straight stitching
• Basic troubleshooting and guided practice

You’ll practice these skills with a simple First Stitch keychain exercise.

Your class includes

• Two hours of hands-on instruction
• Sewing Foundations: Know Your Machine student workbook
• Practice materials and keychain supplies
• Individual machine guidance

What to bring

• A working, standard portable home sewing machine
• Power cord and foot pedal/controller
• At least one compatible bobbin
• A compatible sewing-machine needle

Before you register

Industrial sewing machines and embroidery machines are not suitable for this class. Students are responsible for bringing a functioning machine. Instruction includes basic troubleshooting, not repairs or servicing. A machine needing repair may limit participation.

Registration policy

Each registration reserves one seat for the October 22 class. Space is limited to eight students.

All sales are final. With at least seven days’ notice, your registration may be applied once as a credit toward a future Toni & Tucker Co. class. Within seven days of the event, registration may be transferred to another attendee, but no refund or class credit will be issued.

If Toni & Tucker Co. cancels or reschedules the event, registrants may choose a refund or class credit.
